Artisan Sourdough

£15 per hour
Working hours Monday – Friday
6am until 3pm or 10am 7pm on a rota basis.
This
is an excellent opportunity for an artisan Baker to join this family run bakery
based in Bakewell. This Artisan Sourdough Baker will work closely within the
existing team.
The range of
products varies from artisan breads to oatcakes. As a baker with experience in
an artisan bakery, you’ll already understand the process of feeding a starter,
bulking this up and then mixing and shaping loaves.
You will be
able to scale recipes up using bakers’ percentages and understand judging proof
of sourdough and yeasted products. It is important that you have an eye for
detail and are prepared to take responsibility for producing consistent
Sourdoughs to a high standard.
Duties:

Production
of Sourdough & other baked pastries
·
Ensure
the quality and presentation of all food items meet our high standards
·
Maintain
a clean and organised bakery environment
·
Operate
bakery equipment safely, including mixers, ovens, dividers, and proofers.
·
Monitor
inventory levels, ingredient preparation, and stock rotation
·
Adhere
to all health and safety regulations in the bakery
·
Prepare
and maintain sourdough starters.
·
Mix,
ferment, shape, proof, and bake a range of artisan sourdoughs.
·
Ensure
consistent product quality and presentation.
·
Maintain
high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.
·
Manage
ingredient stock and assist with ordering when required.
·
Contribute
ideas for new artisan sourdoughs and pastries
Experience:
·
Full
knowledge on sour dough production is essential
·
Excellent
attention to detail and product quality
·
Ability
to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
The
successful applicant for this Baker role
will receive an excellent hourly rate of pay of £15 per hour, along with company
